How long do fellowships last?

They last 12 months, beginning in June each year.

What is compensation like?

We provide competitive compensation and benefits.

What do fellows do?

Fellows work hands-on in all areas of physician practice management, hospital operations, complete a wide variety of projects, and assist at several Lexington Health community events throughout the year.

Will I be offered employment with LMC after the fellowship ends?

We can't guarantee that we'll offer you an opportunity with Lexington Health at the end of your fellowship, but our goal is to retain our fellows and thoroughly prepare them for post-fellowship employment in a health care setting.

Projects

You'll work on multiple projects, either as required by core curriculum or based on our organizational needs. All fellows will support projects directly tied to the organization’s strategic priorities.

What kind of projects?

Examples of past fellow projects include:

  • Service Line Access and Growth Analysis
  • Revenue Cycle Analysis
  • Physician Practice Workflow Time Study
  • Point of service Collection Procedures
  • Imaging Growth and Optimization Study

Mentorship

Each fellow works with preceptors and mentors during his or her program year. We assign our fellows to a vice president mentor and a director preceptor, and we place them with an assigned preceptor (manager or director) during each of their rotations.

Who are preceptors?

Previous fellows and experienced directors working within the Lexington Health system serve as mentors to guide fellows through their learning experience. During the Administrative Fellowship Program, fellows develop close relationships with their preceptor as well as executive leadership during project assignments and rotations.
