Come for the support. Stay for the rewarding career.
Program Details
Starting your nursing career at Lexington Health just got easier. You can now receive financial assistance to pay for your education through our Nurse Scholars Program.
Lexington Health Nurse Scholars Program rewards qualified nursing students with funds to defray the cost of attending nursing school. Nurse scholars receive a $250 stipend every two weeks, up to a total of $5,000. Recipients receive their educational support funds during the last year of your nursing education.
Nurse Scholars are accepted into the Lexington Health’s Registered Nurse Residency Program upon graduation. The Nurse Scholars Program requires a one-month commitment, working as a Registered Nurse at Lexington Health, for every month of educational stipend support received.
Application Recommendations
Applications are accepted on a year-round basis. To maximize stipend potential, students are encouraged to apply and submit documentation one year, or 12-15 months, prior to anticipated graduation. However, we will accept applications up to a month prior to your final semester before graduation.
What is the best time to apply?
The process from application received to potential acceptance into the Nurse Scholar Program often takes 2-3 months. This is why we recommend applying around one year, or 12-15 months prior to your anticipated graduation to maximize stipend potential. Still, you can apply up to a month prior to your final semester of nursing school.
Once the maximum number of nurse scholars has been reached for a given year, Lexington Health will no longer accept applications for the program. Applications to the nurse residency programs will still be accepted, pending availability of positions.
- Scholar stipends are subject to taxes in accordance with IRS regulations.
Notification
- Scholar recipients will be notified by email.
Lexington Health does not discriminate in hiring based on race, gender, ethnicity, religion, national origin, disability, marital status or military status.
